I am a Caribbean immigrant who moved to South Florida at age six. I lived in a modest Jamaican-American home with a formal living room that no one was allowed to sit in. I learned, by necessity, how to stretch a dollar bill. I was raised to be playful, poised, God-fearing, and to honor the value of hard work. And, I was the first in my family to earn a college degree.
On my first flight to America, I met a kind flight attendant and was so deeply inspired by the adventure of travel that I said to myself, "Maybe I could do that."
Witnessing a woman gracefully communicate with people of all colors, creeds and cultures cracked open a possibility within my consciousness about what was possible for me.
With nothing more than persistence, creativity, a dream, and God's grace, I’m proud to have traveled the world, facilitated lifesaving organ transplants, trained with astronauts, and created a small business, DB Creative Agency, that's impacted the lives of entrepreneurs in 31 countries.
From these experiences and many others, I continue to learn new things each day, and expand my faith and diligence according to His will.
My commitment is to bring Covington residents the best of what I am learning, while keeping it honest as I go. Please, don't expect a perfect polish politician but do expect objective solutions, open communication, a respect for tradition, some goofy antics, and an unwavering devotion to help Covington residents live their most comfortable, safe and secure lives.
I aspire to earn the trust and confidence of my constituents. I believe in the power of transparency, open dialogue, and inclusive decision-making. Together, we can create a City Council that truly represents the aspirations and needs of each and every member of our diverse community.
Covington's strength lies in its people, and I am deeply passionate about fostering a sense of unity and collaboration. Let us build bridges between neighborhoods, forge partnerships with local businesses, and encourage active citizen participation in shaping the future of our city.
